Mike Smallwood
In 1980, Mike decided to change his
career to fulfill a lifetime dream. He began to build
custom homes one at a time. After working for Beers
Construction Company for 12 years in Atlanta on such
buildings as the Bell South Tower, High Museum of Art
and Egleston Hospital, residential building came
naturally to Mike.
J. M. S. Builders, Inc. was established in 1980 and
has built custom homes in Eastgate Subdivision in Dekalb
County, Jim Cowart Subdivisions, Double Gate and River
Glenn in North Fulton County, and North Forke
Plantation, Riverwood Park and Brittany Manor
subdivisions in Gwinnett County. "I love taking a piece
of land and building a family a home. I don't build a
large number of homes each year, but I try to build
Quality". Quality materials and workmanship are one of
the top priorities of J. M. S. Builders, Inc.
Mike has lived in Dekalb and Gwinnett Counties all of
his life. He is married to Kim and has 2 children, a
daughter, Dawn, and a son, Shane. He and his family are
members and attend Glen Haven Baptist Church. Mike is
also a member of the Greater Atlanta Home Builder's
Association.
